Eight Steps To Happiness

Retreat with Gen Losang Kelsang

Friday 7:30–9:00pm / Saturday 9:00am–6:00pm / Sunday 9:00am–12:30pm

During this meditation retreat we will get to know the essential meditations from the inspiring book «Eight Steps to Happiness». This is a practical explanation of Buddha’s popular teachings on training the mind, composed in Eight Verses by the great Tibetan Buddhist master Bodhisattva Langri Tangpa.

During this retreat, we will be training in these meditations which will help us to transform the difficulties of life into precious, spiritual insights. In this way, we will be able to develop our mind through improving the quality of our love, compassion, and wisdom bringing more patience and empathy into our daily life.

These meditation methods have inspired thousands of Buddhist practitioners over many generations and brought countless people permanent inner peace and happiness. The Buddhist monk and meditation teacher Gen Losang Kelsang will introduce us to this treasure of wisdom during this retreat.

What to expect

An introduction to the retreat will be given on Friday evening, followed by six meditation sessions on Saturday and Sunday. In each session Gen Losang will give a short explanation on a particular subject of the retreat followed by a guided meditation. At the beginning of each meditation, there will be short chanted Buddhist prayers which serve as preparation for the actual meditation.

During the retreat session breaks, there will be tea, cake and a vegetarian / vegan lunch on offer. The meditation room will be a silent area throughout the whole retreat, for those who like to stay in calm and meditative space. The gardens and café offer plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of like-minded people.
