Letting go of anger
Surfing with love and patience through everyday life
Every day we encounter hundreds of situations that we do not like: we bump our toes, have a disagreement with our partner, or, if it gets really bad, we may discover that our house has burned down or that we have cancer. Our normal response to these circumstances is that we become unhappy or angry. Despite our constant efforts, we cannot avoid unpleasant things happening. We cannot assume that nothing bad will happen to us because in samsara we have no control over events in our lives. Instead of reacting out of emotional habit, we should investigate whether it is helpful or realistic to get unhappy and angry under such circumstances.
This day course provides solutions that give us the freedom to respond to difficult situations in a more realistic and constructive way. By practicing in this way, we can increasingly go through everyday life with love and patience and strengthen our experience of happiness and well-being.
What to expect
There will be teachings on the subject followed by guided meditations. The meditations offer the opportunity to deepen the newly gained insights. In preparation for the teachings and meditations, short Buddhist prayers are being played.
During the breaks, there will be tea and cake and there will be a vegetarian / vegan lunch on offer. The meditation room will be a silent area throughout the whole course for those who like to stay in a calm and meditative space. The gardens and café offer plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of like-minded people.
