Finding Buddha’s peace in our modern lives

City Retreat with Gen Kelsang Devi

What does it mean to practice the Buddhist path in the 21st Century? Is the Buddhist way of life an effective response to the problems that confront us both individually and globally? Gen Kelsang Devi will explore these questions through explaining and guiding meditations presented in “Modern Buddhism“. In this weekend retreat we will learn how we can easily integrate modern Buddhist meditations into our own lives so that we too are deeply inspired to transform our modern lives into the path of peace and fulfilment. These guided meditations are ideal for those new to Buddhism as well as those who are already familiar with Buddhist teachings.

What to expect

An introduction to the retreat will be given on Friday evening, followed by six meditation sessions on Saturday and Sunday. In each session, Gen Devi will give a short explanation on a particular subject of the retreat followed by a guided meditation. At the beginning of each meditation, there will be short chanted Buddhist prayers which serve as preparation for the actual meditation.

During the retreat session breaks, there will be tea, cake and a vegetarian / vegan lunch on offer. The meditation room will be a silent area throughout the whole retreat for those who like to stay in calm and meditative space. The gardens and café offer plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of like-minded people.
