Swiss Dharma Celebration 2020
Prajnaparamita Empowerment – opening your wisdom eyes
9–13 April 2020
Enjoy Easter in a meaningful way at the annual Swiss Dharma Celebration, high up in the scenic mountain village of Törbel, at Kailash International Retreat Centre. This Buddhist celebration is a spiritual holiday and consists of teachings, a blessing empowerment, meditations and a short retreat to finish with. This year’s event focuses on wisdom and how we can liberate ourselves from our suffering and problems through understanding and practicing Buddha’s profound insights on the ultimate truth – emptiness.
A wonderful occasion to receive the blessing empowerment of Buddha Prajnaparamita, the female Buddha of wisdom, from Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang as well as teachings on the ‘Heart Sutra’ and commentaries to this self-generation practice.
What to expect
There will be guided meditations and teachings, including the Prajnaparamita Empowerment and buddhist chanting. In the breaks there are many opportunities to go for walks, relax in the peaceful surroundings, as well as to volunteer with a small job to keep the event running smoothly as the whole event is run on volunteers only.
The celebration will be held in English with German, French and Italian translation. The celebration starts with supper at 6.00pm on Thursday, followed by the introduction at 8.00pm and finishes with lunch on Monday.
Who is Buddha Prajnaparamita?
Prajnaparamita is a female Buddha who is the manifestation of the perfection of Buddhas wisdom. Her function is to overcome maras – external and internal negative forces – and to grant the realization of the higher perfection of wisdom. The perfection of Buddha’s wisdom appears as a wisdom being: Prajnaparamita. If we sincerely rely on her, we can develop this wisdom to overcome our negativity in order to experience true freedom and happiness.
What is an empowerment?
An empowerment is a guided meditation, that provides us with the opportunity to make a deep connection with a particular Buddha, thereby receiving his or her inspiration and blessings. This special blessing ceremony leaves powerful potential in our mind that enables us to heal our mental continuum and awaken our Buddha nature.
Anyone Buddhist or non-Buddhist is welcome to take part of an empowerment.
